Alison Rios Millett McCartney, Ph.D. is a professor of political science in the Department of Political Science. A member of the Towson University faculty for over 20 years, she has served as director of the international studies program, chair of the Faculty Committee on Service-Learning, co-founder of the TU-Baltimore County Public Schools Model United Nations program, co-founder of the Undergraduate Research Club, and member of the Latinx Faculty Staff Association. Professor McCartney won the University of Maryland Regents Award for mentoring in 2009, the Maryland-D.C. Campus Compact Service-Learning Scholarship in 2012, the ¿ì»îÊÓƵOutstanding Service-Learning Faculty Member Award in 2015, the B¿ì»îÊÓƵPartnership Award and the Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic P20 Partnership Award in 2018, and the Distinguished Service Award from the APSA Political Science Education section in 2020. Her publications include co-editing three books on civic engagement education - Teaching Civic Engagement Globally (2021), Teaching Civic Engagement Across the Disciplines (2017), and Teaching Civic Engagement: From Student to Active Citizen (2013) - and many other book chapters, articles, and webinars on civic engagement education, undergraduate education, and contemporary German foreign policy. Her teaching interests include undergraduate research, civic engagement, European politics, foreign policy, and international relations. She is a member of the American Political Science Association (APSA) and past president of the Political Science Education section of APSA.

Michael Elliott, Ph.D. joined the Sociology, Anthropology & Criminal Justice Department at Towson in 2008, after receiving his Ph.D. in sociology from Emory University in the same year.  He began teaching in the Honors College in Spring 2013, starting with SOCI 102, but now offers TSEM 190 and an upper-level seminar on globalization on a regular basis.  In addition to teaching, Dr. Elliott has been increasingly involved with curriculum development, admissions review, and student research in Honors.  His current research explores the globalization of world heritage and the sacred dimensions of fan devotion in popular culture.

Adam Rudolphi, Ph.D. earned a B.A. in History summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from The Catholic University of America in 2001. While at CUA, Dr. Rudolphi was a student in the University Honors Program, where he earned the distinction University Scholar, under its founding director, the late Dr. Ingrid Merkel. From CUA, Dr. Rudolphi began to pursue art history at the graduate level, earning an M.A. from the University of Delaware in 2005 and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2013. Dr. Rudolphi has taught courses covering the entire history of Western art from cave paintings to Kehinde Wiley at several institutions in the Mid-Atlantic region, and has lectured on his research interests (iconography, Classical art and literature, and Early Modern Italian art, 1260–1675) both in-person and virtually. Since joining the Honors College as Coordinator for Admissions and Enrollment in December 2022, Dr. Rudolphi has worked to use his skills as an art historian to advance knowledge of the Lieberman Collection, make Honors an even more inclusive space, and pay forward all the support, encouragement, and guidance he received as an undergraduate at CUA from Dr. Merkel and the other leaders of its University Honors Program.

Margo Stebbins came to Towson University as Coordinator of Student Leadership in spring of 2022. Shortly after, she became the Director of Co-Curricular Programs and Constituent Relationships, in fall of 2022. Margo graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a degree in Criminal Justice B.S. in 2020. She completed her masters at the University of Northern Colorado in Higher Education Student Affairs Leadership in 2022. She joined University of Northern Colorado, serving as the Coordinator of Communication, Programming, and Advising for the Center for Honors, Scholars, and Leadership, in 2020. While there, she also held positions at Aims Community College, working in Student Equity, and Case Western Reserve University Residents Life Office. Margo is also serving as the advisor for Towson Chapter of Phi Sigma Pi.

Professor Terry Cooney, Ph.D. came to Towson University as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and professor of history in 2006, serving as CLA Dean until 2020. In 2011, he served as Acting Provost and Academic Vice President of the university. In 2014, he became the head of the Honors College as well and filled that role through 2024. He continues as a member of the faculty. Professor Cooney graduated from Harvard College and completed his Ph.D. at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He joined the University of Puget Sound as a faculty member in 1976 and remained there for thirty years, serving as Department Chair in History, Associate Academic Dean, Academic Vice President and Dean of the university, and Acting President. His research exploring mid-twentieth century US history resulted in several articles and two books: The Rise of the New York Intellectuals, and Balancing Acts: American Thought and Culture in the 1930’s.

Judy Rixham joined Towson University in 2014, beginning in the Registrar’s office and moving to The Center for Professional Practice in the College of Education soon thereafter. In 2016, Judy transitioned to the Office of the VP for Student Affairs / Dean of Students Office as an Executive Administrative Assistant. There, she worked closely with what is now the department for Student Outreach and Support for eight years. Judy joined the Honors College as Executive Administrative Assistant in July 2024. Alongside her professional roles, Judy has also offered her time in various service capacities. From 2017 to 2022, she served as a senator for the ¿ì»îÊÓƵStaff Senate, including three years as Secretary. Judy was also a member of the University Staff Development Conference Committee for seven years, five of them as Chair/Co-chair, and a staff representative on the Presidents Board of Visitors Council from 2017 to 2022.
