ENVS 485: Environmental Internship

ENVS 485 is a popular option to fulfill the capstone/applications requirement for your major in addition to research or the senior seminar. 

Students must obtain an appropriate internship in order to complete ENVS 485. Some requirements for a suitable internship can be found below.

  • Must have junior or senior standing
  • Must be in the field of environmental science or studies
  • Must perform a minimum of 120 hours of work in a paid, unpaid, or volunteer position
  • An internship supervisor must provide support and direction for the role

You can find internship opportunities on Handshake, our list of past employers, and by checking your 快活视频email regular for opportunity announcements. Once you鈥檝e found or or more potential internships, you need to obtain approval from the and include the following information:

  1. The organization or company offering the internship
  2. A brief description of what you will be doing on the internship
  3. Acknowledgment of the internship requirements including that your supervisor knows to complete evaluations for you
  4. Your potential supervisor鈥檚 name and contact information (email and phone)

Once your internship is approved, you are free to accept the internship!

You will register for ENVS 485 in the semester immediately following the completion of your internship. For example, if you complete an internship over the summer, you would register for ENVS 485 in the fall.
