Office Housekeeping
Information on standards and processes for office cleaning and maintenance.
Towson University’s existing housekeeping contract provides for the routine cleaning of common spaces, corridors, bathrooms and open suite areas. With the exception of the Administration Building, housekeeping staff does not have access to offices for routine cleaning. Office cleaning is available by request.
How to Request Cleaning
Faculty and staff can request office cleaning by contacting their building coordinators or calling 410-704-2610. The university will cover the cost of reasonable cleaning
requests, with the understanding that faculty and staff exercise discretion in using
our limited housekeeping resources. You must be present to provide office access for
the cleaning.

Waste Removal
¿ì»îÊÓƵhas implemented a self-service waste model to refocus housekeeper resources on health and safety-related cleaning rather than trash collection.
Self-Service Buildings
The following buildings have self-service waste removal:
- 401 Washington

- General Services

- Liberal Arts

- Science Complex

- Stephens Hall

- University Union
Faculty and staff in these buildings should empty their office recycling, trash and
compost in centrally-located receptacles. Housekeeping staff empty the central receptacles
as well as bathroom and common area containers. Contact your building coordinator if you need assistance locating the central receptacles in your building.
Our self-service waste model supports the proper separation and disposal of campus waste streams. Self-service will be implemented in additional campus buildings as renovations and
upgrades allow.
