Kid-Simple: A Radio Play in the Flesh

by Jordan Harrison
Directed by Tavia La Follette
October 18-24, 2024
Center for the Arts Studio Theatre

Sound, our first and most ancient sense, is explored like the unused portions of our cerebral matter, through the adventures of Moll, a brilliant teenage inventor. After winning the science fair with her machine "the third ear,"—which gathers sounds that can't be perceived—her invention is stolen by a nefarious shapeshifter. Moll sets forth on an odyssey to save sound with her devoted sidekick, the last boy virgin in the 11th grade. This titillating tale is told with live Foley sound and onomatopoeia.
