MentHER
MentHER is a 鈥渓ift as you rise鈥 program that combines networking and mentorship among women to support the growth, education, and empowerment of college and high school students in the Baltimore area. Supported by a grant through the National Mentor Resource Center, MentHER combines evidence-based practices for mentorship programming.
About MentHER
MentHER empowers women by focusing program content on financial literacy, career planning, and life and workplace skills. From September to May, the MentHER program connects professional business women with 1:1 mentoring relationships with College of Business of Economics sophomores, who in turn mentor high school students within Baltimore. Guided discussions on issues facing women are addressed throughout the program in the 1:1 mentoring sessions, workshops, and presentations.

MentHER has been nationally recognized for its committment to community engagement, diversity and inclusion initatives, and mission to female empowerment.
Inspring Programs in Business Award
MentHER received the 2024 Inspiring Programs in Business Award from Insight into Diversity magazine, the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education. The magazine selected MentHER for this award for its support of the growth and education of female students in the college and its partnership with local high school students.

MentHER received the 2023 B快活视频Partnership Award, which recognizes programs for their beneficial partnerships between the university and at least one community partner. MentHER matches CBE students with women mentors in the business world. The 快活视频students then act as mentors to Lansdowne High School juniors to help prepare them for college.

MentHER is a two-time recipient of the Tall-Wiedefeld Society Grant Awards, which focuses on programs that primarily benefit the advancement of women. The Tall-Wiedefeld Society honors TU鈥檚 women leaders, builds community and creates a permanent legacy to address the needs of young women at TU.
