9/11 Memorial Garden
Towson University’s 9/11 Memorial Garden was created by Housing and Residence Life to offer a peaceful place of reflection for members of the ¿ì»îÊÓƵcommunity to remember the victims of the terror attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. Collectively, 2,977 Americans were killed at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and on Flight 93 over Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Of those, 69 Marylanders were lost including ¿ì»îÊÓƵalumna Elizabeth Wainio ’95.
The Memorial Garden is located in front of Newell Hall.
Elizabeth Wainio Memorial Communications Scholarship
The Elizabeth Wainio Memorial Communications Scholarship was established by her family and friends to honor her memory by supporting current ¿ì»îÊÓƵcommunications majors.
