Four 快活视频faculty receive 2023 Board of Regents awards

USM鈥檚 highest honor recognizes 快活视频faculty for excellence in mentoring, teaching, research

The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents announced its 2023 Regents鈥� Faculty Awards today, with Towson University leading the system with four of the 19 recipients. The award is the highest honor presented by the Board of Regents to exemplary faculty members.

TU鈥檚 honorees鈥擬in Deng, department of mathematics and director of the Actuarial Science and Risk Management (ASRM) Program; Stella Tomasi, department of business analytics and technology management; Mariana Lebr贸n, department of management; and Paz Galupo, department of psychology鈥攔eceived honors in three of the five categories and represent the Fisher College of Science & Mathematics, the College of Business & Economics and the College of Liberal Arts.

鈥淭hese four honorees represent the standard of excellence that Towson University faculty uphold everyday through their work as scholars, educators and mentors,鈥� said interim president Melanie Perreault. 鈥淭he 快活视频community is so proud to celebrate these distinguished faculty for their achievement of this incredibly prestigious award.鈥�

Institutional faculty nominating committees make recommendations to the institutional presidents, who review nominations and support material and forward recommendations to USM Chancellor Jay A. Perman. The Regents Faculty Review Committee makes the final recommendations and bestows awards in five categories: mentoring, public service, creative activity, teaching and scholarship and research.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a privilege each year to pay tribute to our outstanding faculty,鈥� said USM Chancellor Jay A. Perman. 鈥淭he impact of their teaching, their discovery, their scholarship and service simply can鈥檛 be overstated. That our winners have distinguished themselves among tens of thousands of their faculty colleagues across the System makes this a rare honor and proves just how meaningful are their accomplishments. The Board of Regents will recognize the winners at its board meeting on April 14. Each honoree will receive a monetary prize provided by the institutions and the USM Foundation.

USM staff awards will be announced in the summer.
