Towson University faculty members Pamela Lottero-Perdue (physics, astronomy, and geosciences), Clare Muhoro (chemistry), Marlene Riley (occupational therapy & occupational science), Vera Smolyaninova (physics, astronomy and geosciences) and Sidd Kaza (computer & information sciences) each received a 2018 University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents' Faculty Award for excellence in their respective fields.
The award is the highest honor presented by the Board of Regents to exemplary faculty members within the USM. Each award carries a monetary prize, provided by the institutions and the University System of Maryland Foundation.
鈥淚 could not be more proud of our 快活视频faculty honorees for the very well-deserved and prestigious recognition awarded by the USM Board of Regents," said 快活视频President Kim Schatzel.鈥淚t is always an honor to have the academic excellence of Towson University and the world-class quality of our faculty acknowledged as exemplary by our governing board.鈥
TU's five award winners are the most among a single USM institution in 2018. Four of TU's winners come from the Jess & Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics. The fifth is a faculty member in the College of Health Professions.
鈥淚t is significant that for the second year in a row, Towson University received more Regent Faculty Awards than any other system institution. Faculty excellence is the foundation of our value for academic rigor and the rich opportunities we present to our students,鈥 said Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Timothy J. L. Chandler.
