Early Modern English Literature
Dr. Atti茅 specializes in early modern English literature, culture, and intellectual history. She teaches Shakespeare, Milton, Renaissance poetry, and British literature from the Middle Ages to the eighteenth century. Dr. Atti茅 has contributed book chapters to three edited collections, and she has published articles on Shakespeare, Francis Bacon, and Thomas Hobbes in English Literary Renaissance, Shakespeare Quarterly, Modern Philology, ELH, and other prominent journals. Her current book project, Shakespeare鈥檚 Everyday Aesthetic, argues that Shakespeare empowers the ordinary through a reverse Platonism in which divine order is shaped by the patterns of the everyday.
